Lilac 'Josee'

Really doing well this spring. It was threatened with destruction if it didn't perform better. Obviously threats of violence work!

Absolutely adore this, I dug one out from my mums Garden after she passed away and potted it up but I’m 99% sure it’s dead as it has no green on it yet and I’m sure it should have at this time of year.

Meadow, 6+ years. I'm hardening my heart with the malingerers now..

SBG, I'm making a decision about a white wisteria. Had a couple of miserable blooms for the first time last year, back again to nothing this year. It's in a pot so probably my fault!

I'm sorry if you've lost your plant, Cal. Perhaps you could replace it with another?

Yes, Paul, it is when it flowers and a good scent, too, but rather uninteresting for 11 months of the year like most lilacs..

Where are you staying Anget will you be on holiday ?

10 May, 2022

Going to the North Norfolk coast, Amy. We've been for the last 2 years and love it. We both come from East Anglia originally so it all seems very familiar, sort of a homecoming!

It obviously did well under ‘duress’, Ange! It’s flowered very well too. I do love their fragrance.

Cromer ,Wells , Blakeny etc .Anget we love it too and miss our favourite places since moving over the border into Suffolk .. but we have some lovely places along the coast here as well ..

Annoyingly, Kate, because it gets windy a lot of the time up here the scent of most of our shrubs is dispersed rather than making any impact on our noses!

We know Suffolk a bit, too, Amy, as we've visited relatives there. I know a few of the seaside areas and stayed in Dunwich for a holiday a while ago. Lucky you! I would be hard pushed to say which county I prefer.

Ah, yes Dunwich the disappearing village ,they say you can still hear the church bells ringing under the sea , if you haven't been to Walberswick and taken the tiny ferry across to Southwold for Fish & chips or a pub lunch ,it's a must , every visitor to come to us has to do that ...

Looking good Anget, same variety as mine, so worth it for the scent alone :-)
