This is the other cybister type Hippeastrum I have. Hopefully I will get some seed crossing the two.

Lovely, Wylie! Just this week two of my Amaryllis have begun to flower & at least two more have buds for July, possibly!

This one is a fast multiplier. I have 6 offsets on it that will need to be separated in the fall.

Careful with offsets! They multiply faster that the proverbial rabbits! That how I ended up with well over a 100 bulbs at one point! 😂

Since no one around here has the cybister types, it will be no problem giving them away. There is a house on the island that uses the regular red types to line their entrance path. It took several years for it to look really good, but it looks amazing. There is another house that did the same with freesia.

That sounds great, Wylie, but both only flower for about2-3 weeks then you have to wait a whole year for them to flower again!
Having them in pots allows you to move them around & put them on view while they are flowering but somewhere out of sight while the leaves are growing.
Mt 2 Amaryllis flowering in the bedroom have finished for this year. But I have a couple of more bulbs with buds that may flower in July.

That is a problem with a lot of the bulbs I grow. My crinums, amaryllis belladonnas and scillas are all in the ground where they do really well. The amaryllis are dying back, the scillas will die back soon, and then the crinums will rest for the summer. But the bulbs are huge with deep roots and I would need very large pots for them to do well.
I was out in front pulling 2 year old nerine bulbs out of their starting flats. I was able to make a bunch of crosses and the foliage has died back all the way. One more year and they should start flowering.
