Ceanothus - Californian Lilac

And it's spectacular! It looks to be the same shade of blue as mine, and like yours, it's covered in blooms this year. A strong honey scent too, the bees love it..:))

Hey Janey, yes it does have a lovely scent and thank you. The tree hums because there is so many bees on it at once I had never seen anything like it before.

I’m not sure what the correct term is but I’ve cut all the bottom growth back to the trunk/stem so it looks like a tree rather than a shrub and plus I have plants in pots underneath with some bird feeders hung under there.

How old is the shrub? Its sn absolute cracker.

I’m not entirely sure Siris I will have to ask my neighbour he might know, we’ve only been here for 4 years though and it wasn’t much smaller than it is now.

They really are a fabulous shrub, Cal! The flowers are wonderful…bees buzzing all over them all day!
