Lilium 'Dark Secret'.

Where to start with the potted summer bulbs and corms this year? Mostly they have been less than satisfacory (and that's being very polite).
The many pots of lilies are grim. They came from different sources but were often miserable little things when they arrived. There should be 6 of these, only 3 have made an appearance. Same goes for the pots of dahlias which were all planted fresh but most refused to get going until recently, so will be too small to plant out this year. The begonias have been hit-and-miss, too. What a waste of money!
I have grown many bulbs before so I don't think it can all be down to my ineptitude.. Has anyone else noticed a sudden fall in quality this season?

Sorry to hear about your bulbs Ange. I only had a problem with a couple of plants from Sarah Raven, but as soon as I told them, I was sent a refund. So I’m not complaining.

Lovely lily flower Ange. Sorry to hear your bulbs didn't do very well. Perhaps as SBG said it was the weather conditions. Give them a feed and see what happens.

Glad you like this lily, it is a stunning dark shade. Thanks, too for all your advice.

I think part of the problem was the dry summer and autumn when many of the bulbs should have been bulking up.
Feed and water well and then next year......
