Again! We had 2 hrs of drizzle a couple of days ago. Made no impression.

It's really beginning to cause problems all around the South now, reservoir levels have dropped considerably and the fire service are so busy dealing with burning fields. I have just read that some total idiots buried a hot disposable BBQ in the sand at Brighton beach. They could have doused it with sea water for goodness sake!!!

The stupid are always with us, Shirley! I suspect half the wild fires are started deliberately...

Anget, OH and I took a walk around to the allotment site where we used to have a plot, and apart from being dismayed at the state of some of them, we thought it was an absolute hazard for fire. The grass and weeds are bone dry, fence panels and old railway sleepers are heaped up in amongst the broken branches of long dead trees ... :o((

Common sense??

If only these folk had some!

There will always be those stupid fools out there with no brain cells at all! God knows what they are thinking when they do these things? Some just don’t have a care to be honest.
I do love your limey white hydrangea paniculata. It’s very cottagey. Very attractive.

Are there not allotment committees, Shirley, who should be on top of this sort of thing?

Agreed, Kate, the stupid are always with us and get a kick out of deliberate destruction!
Glad you like my little hydrangea.

Anget, those allotments have been in place since the Sixties, about 12 plots and there has never been a Committee as far as I recall. My Dad had one for years and I took one on about 12 years ago, grew some good fruit and veg. so it breaks my heart to see them looking so neglected now.

Maybe I will take some photos of them and email them to the Council ...
