Beautiful flowers Balcony. I'm going to take a few cuttings this next week of different plants. I've been busy picking and washing apples then storing them in cardboard boxes between sheets of newspapers.

I don't seem to be having much luck with rooting Fuchsias any longer, or perhaps better said, not being able to get them to grow on once potted up! I find they make roots in water but then fail to make progress once put in compost. I took a lot some months ago but they all eventually died after potting up. I used to get them to grow like weeds but not any more. I did have success with two of the cuttings but they are of a variety I have several of on the balcony. I would like to get cuttings of those I have only got one of - which is most of them!

Hi Balcony, try putting some grit in the compost so that the compost doesn't get too wet and it drains better. Only just a thought....

Thanks, Lindak, for the suggestion!

I've just done some salvia cuttings and put them in the greenhouse for now, in a semi-shaded part. I hope they take root for next year.
