Yellow Begonias

Yellow Begonias

These have bloomed for months and show no sign of stopping.

These are a gorgeous colour, Shirley. I tried begonias for the first time this year and they weren't exactly a glorious success. Took ages to get going and I ended up with only 2 that flowered! Not sure I shall bother to keep them for next year. You obviously have the touch!

Ange, that's a real shame for you. These thrive on neglect ...

They are lovely,Shirley..I bought some trailing ones this year, as a 3 pack in a sale ..as you do ! Lol.Only two survived, and were also late to get going, but they have been fantastic, and still are.:o) Are you going to save your Tubers for next year? I'm going to try and save mine.:o) xx.

Sandra, I like the sound of your trailing ones. I looked up how to overwinter Begonias and found this information:

Store begonia tubers individually in paper bags or line them in a single layer atop newspaper. Place these in a cardboard box in a cool, dark, dry location.

I shall give that a go and report back in the Spring!

Shirley, that is similar to the info I read ,on how to store them. I have stored others (Dahlia Tubers, for example ) ,in the top of a Wardrobe..in individual sheets of news paper, in a Cardboard box, which was successful ..I do change the newspaper on occasions, after checking them over.x.

Sandra, your comment reminded me of when I was very new to gardening and stored some Dahlia tubers, having written their name and colour on a piece of paper within the box. You've guessed it .... the writing had faded when I unwrapped them all!

Sorry Shirley, I've missed some of your pics!!
They're such a lovely strong colour, feels like summer extended! ⁰

Kate, now worries! I find it almost impossible to keep up on here ... life gets in the way! I am hoping to keep these tubers over Winter and have moved them into shelter to dry them out, still in the pot.
