2022_Apple tree

Apple tree planted in spring 2022. It arrived post blossom, showing many potential apples to grow. Unfortunately, too many apples grew for such a young tree, one of the branches snapped!! I cut quite a few apples off the branches to ease the weight of the remaining growing fruit.
This photo was taken yesterday. Good healthy buds are appearing. I plan to prune the tree later in spring, once the frosts are over, to give more strength for this year's fruit.

We have 2 espalier apple trees growing along the shed, and one apple tree in the middle of the lawn. We reduce the very small apples in June to one or two apples per bunch on the branch, then prune the trees at the end of August, and again end of November . It is not a good idea to prune your tree in the Spring when the sap is rising.
I would prune in the winter to make the tree grow. Prune in August for shape and restricting the growth.Hope this helps you.

Thank you Klahanie and Lindak.
I will go by your advice and hold back until later in the year. I will keep an eye out and repeat the reduction of multiple apples on one branch, if needs be.
