Sarcococca

Planted many years ago under the Camellia tree.
They live in complete shade all year round. These flowers are almost invisible when I walk around but I can smell them.
I have seen them as tall as 3 feet tall in others people gardens but these stayed only 1 and half ft tall for all these years. Maybe because of the full shade. They are evergreen plants so very useful for winter landscape.

I have one of these Klahanie.
The perfume is lovely outside but find it quite overpowering
if I cut some for te house.

I’ve never grown one, but, they do add a loveliness to the winter and spring garden…especially the fragrance.

Wonderful scent isn’t it Klahanie? I was at Wisley once, and people on the path were saying “What’s that smell?” and I said “It’s Sarcococca” but it was about twenty yards away!
