Anyone would think it was planned, Shirley! We have lots of variations, including red ones. No idea how the coloured ones were introduced - busy bees, I expect. I curse them when they tangle up in the very centre of other plants.

Fantastic! My neighbour has an area for self seeding primaries, it looks stunning every spring. Yours look like oxlips? They really are lovely..

Yes, I think they are oxlips, Janey. We mostly have a mix of yellow cowslips and oxlips.
