Blue Nigella (Love-in-a-mist)

Gosh..that is dry soil! Love that beautiful blue.

Beautiful. We have the same parched look all over. I noticed this morning even the lawn has gone the same way. Praying for rain.

Thanks Karen, it really does have some pretty shades of blue. As for the dry ground, I have noticed the Geums, Aquilegias, Hydrangeas are all suffering from the lack of rain so I have drenched the ground around those, but it's too wasteful to water the whole garden.

On the plus side, the Sedums and Kniphofias are loving it!

We were discussing this afternoon about how we are supposed to find plants that put up with freezing winters, soaking springs and parched summers. Most of my garden is flagging. Nigella is fine, though.

Ange, I wonder how the Beth Chatto gravel garden has fared these past couple of ever-changing weather years?

Have you visited? I thought it was the least interesting of all the garden spaces there. I suppose I'm not much of a fan of those types of plants. I prefer lusher greenery and would hate to have to rely solely on 'Mediterranean' plants.
