Clematis' Niobe'.

Flowers in the Spring with large blooms.Serns to develop dry, brown foliage which I cut down.The second flush of flowers are much smaller. Come February I will replenish the compost ,hopefully it will do the trick.

This year has been exceptional for two of my clems. Niobe and rouge Cardinal have flowered all summer long without pausing! I have deadheaded which definitely helps. However, I cut my Niobe down a couple of weeks ago as it had flopped all over the grass and was so heavy I just gave up trying to reattach it. I think the fact I’m leaving also factored in. Couldn’t be bothered going to all the effort. It’s regrowing from the base!
