Cotoneaster berries

Great! There are so many berries around this year, on everything.

Oh, Shirley, I am tired of being entangled - the garden spiders are everywhere here! I'm not keen. The cotoneaster is very autumnal.

Yes, the spiders have come out of hiding now and we have loads of them around here too Shirley. Lovely crop of berries. The birds will be well-fed this autumn.

I 'Windmill' my way around the shrubs this time of year! When I was edging part of the lawn that's very close to tall shrubs, I kept looking out for webs and the thought of a spider on me sends shivers down my spine!

Spiders do a good job of catching a lot of flies and we have one or two that make webs across our gate so first thing in the morning I walk through them..... I can pick up spiders and caterpillars etc, they don't bother me. I've always been like that since a young child, but I understand why some people find it uneasy having them around, my mum was like that. I used to take all sorts of creepy crawlies into my bedroom, and she used to cringe.

Hmm, I can only say that we are very different when it comes to spiders then!

So many webs this year and so many spiders!!!! Lovely abundance of berries though!

Kate, the Blackbirds will enjoy the berries, possibly the spiders too ... :o(
