Ptychococcus lepitotus - Bow Palm

These two lower palms are some of rarest palms growing at the San Diego Zoo. I remember when they were planted in 2002 at around 4 ft tall. I can’t believe these palms are probably 25 ft tall now. I’ve read they only grow to 30 ft in their native New Guinea. Photo taken Oct. 1, 2023.

Never heard of them. Look great in a group...tropical looking as can be.
