Ptychococcus lepitotus - Bow Palm (Ptychococcus lepitotus)

These two lower palms are some of rarest palms growing at the San Diego Zoo. I remember when they were planted in 2002 at around 4 ft tall. I can’t believe these palms are probably 25 ft tall now. I’ve read they only grow to 30 ft in their native New Guinea. Photo taken Oct. 1, 2023.
