My very rare Kid Pink Heliconia was a Christmas gift from a friend this past Christmas. Not sure how well it’ll grow outside in our mild subtropical climate. This coming winter will tell…as so many Heliconia species are very tropical and need a wet tropical climate to grow. Photo taken Oct. 15, 2023.

It is zoned for 10b, most likely it’ll do well. We’ll see this coming winter.

I know that you have a great climate in San Diego but that Heliconia has a large spectacular bloom like you see on the ultra tropical or at least south florida Heliconias.
Give it yer best shot!
