Anthurium, Bromeliads and Calathea

These plants are growing very well under a large tree at the San Diego Zoo. They’ve been there 2 or 3 years. Calathea isn’t the easiest plant to grow even in San Diego’s awesome subtropical climate. Photo taken on February 18, 2024.

I love Anthuriums! They remind me of Hawaii.
I just purchased one today. It was after going to The Realization Gardens in Encinitas (in Northern San Diego County). They have many dozens of different varieties of Anthuriums, including bird nest species growing in the ground. The plant I purchased is a huge plant in a small pot with two varieties in the pot. I think two varieties mistakenly were put into one pot. I lucked out!
