For Terratoonies: Here is a photo of my Crocs, I thought these were available in UK, they are a big hit in the US. You will see them everyplace people have to stand for long periods. Lots of hospital staff wear them.

Pollyannaever -
please feel free to select different garden shoes, socks or boots, which would be more comfortable for you, from my collection of footwear favourite photos on my home page. lol

Everybody but everybody in between 8 months and 80 years, is wearing these crocs over here - I'm resisting to try their comfort, simply because I'm fed up of seeing them everywhere !! I can't believe tho' that they don't make your feet sweat in the heat ......

Terry60,
Yes, that is one drawback to wearing them, but I have found that it is not anymore so then wearing athletic shoes like Nike's. With the vent holes they are actually cooler than leather shoes. For some of us with problems there are not a lot of choices for comfortable shoes. I love to wear sandals in the summer but I can't walk more that 100 yards in them without pain. Did you see the tabloid photo of actress Julia Roberts wearing a pair of hot pink Crocs with a formal gown at some Hollywood Party. Hehe! Now that was tacky! : )
