From our trail camera. Two trouble makers.

These 2 deer are residents on our property. They are cruising around all the time to find something to eat.
2 wire protections are there because of them. There was a camellia which was smacked down by falling big Leyland cypress few years ago and I thought it was gone.... therefore I planted a "Santa Rosa" plum in the vicinity. The camellia was not completely dead and started to push a new growth from the root area. It is growing fast and looks healthy. I am glad because it is my favourite. ( Elsie Jury)

They are beautiful, despite their eating preferences, Klahanie! I’m pleased to hear your camellia is showing healthy growth, especially as it’s a favourite.

I do hope the camellia comes along Klahanie. I can imagine these two would try your patience!

I think, if we were to have any problems of this ilk..it would be Badgers. Hopefully they will stay in the woods. But once the builders have gone…who knows?

I’m glad your ElsieJury is living! My Les Jury didn’t survive the house move. It was so damaged that I decided to compost it. I don’t have patience to wait for recovery.

No, not at the moment, but I may get a Camellia rosthorniana as I had one in Scotland and it had the most beautiful red foliage and single white flowers.

Tiny, very shiny leaves, red when young, and single small white flowers in the spring. A really lovely plant.
