It’s unbelievable how large the leaves are growing. The new leaves are 14inches long, which is longer than the main stem. The leaves will grow to more than double this size, eventually. Photo taken May 20, 2024.

It’ll stay in a pot. I have no room for a big tree. The Lau Lau tree can grow to at least 30 ft (10 m) tall.
I wasn’t sure this tree could even grow outside in San Diego’s very mild subtropical climate. I thought it was strictly tropical. It has grown very well outside for the last year or so.

That's good to know then! If it has grown well up to now it should continue to grow well for you in the future.

It should grow well. The leaves have grown bigger than in this pic. I need to transplant it into a bigger pot because of the large leaves.

Are you going to plant it in your garden, Andy? If it has such big leaves now & they to more than double this size then surely it will develop into a massive tree down the years!
