Hoopoe.

We could hear a Hoopoe when in Italy recently, but couldn’t see him!

I have seen them in France. Pity you didn’t catch a glimpse of it in Italy.

We’ve seen them in France too, quite a while ago.

On Countryfile they said that they are sometimes seen in England & that last year a pair bred,in the Midlands, I think. I had no idea, & Bee-eaters visit here too.
