Climbing Rose "Golden Showers"

Climbing Rose "Golden Showers"

I bought this on my lunch break on Thursday, it fortunately managed to survive the afternoon in the car and the twisty turny drive home!
After being inspired last weekend, we thought, yes! Let's plant one next to the Potato Vine to climb up the pergola.
So, I moved a potted lavender and planted it today.
Fingers crossed.

It's a very easy, good rose so it should perform for you, Kate.

Thank you, Ange, that's great to know. I was hoping for something that would be easier to nurture and deliver! :-)

Thank you, Karen, it was between a yellow and a red. I opted for this one as we've already 2 deep pink roses and I thought this was just that bit different.

Thank you, Chris! I think I'm happy now, it has a couple of buds ready to pop, so fingers crossed it's settled in nicely!

Thank you, Julia! I did walk up and down the aisle at this GC several times..despite a lovely and large selection of roses, the 'climbing' selection was fairly limited.
Sounds like this one may be a vintage variety?
I'm now hoping that as it climbs up through the flowering Potato Vine, OH may prune the Vine to a smaller version of itself!!! He loves it, me, not so much 😊

This is such a lovely rose Kate. I had it for years in my old garden. Beautiful open flowers and golden yellow.

Aw thank you, Janey! Guess where it's from?
Silica Lodge GC. It's a lovely GC, lots of choices, although, not so many climbing roses. Saying that, I didn't have a lot of time to browse!!! I'm sure I'd have spotted lots more.
Thanks for your feedback!

It's great there Kate, isn't it, I bought a rose for a friend's 70th a couple of weeks ago. It took me ages, so many to choose from! A very nice man helped too..:)

I'm sure your friend loves her rose too!
