I remember Monty saying Cosmos prefer poor soil, they'll flower freely then. I remember I planted quite a few in my raised bed a couple of years ago and it was rich top soil. They produced thick fern-like leaves and no flowers.

Exactly what has happened here Janey..I've fed them too well.

Looks so vivid and uplifting. Looks really effective against the blue shades.

Thank you Kate..a couple of weeks ago they were feeling so sorry for themselves...so I nearly did what you did Kate and replace them with something.Amazingly they bucked up and started to look much better.

Good decision! They really are a treat!
