Stourhead this morning

Stourhead this morning

We arrived early so we would be home in time for Niamh’s nap. The lake was like a millpond. It was raining gently but by the time we reached the other side the sun was shining. There was one Rhody in flower, a white one. Going over a bit but still flowering.

The huge tree to the left of the bridge is a Liriodendron -Tulip Tree. Magnificent!

Just stunning Karen, it really is! I feel like I'm viewing the 18th century, which I'm sure I am..:))
The tulip tree too, how wonderful.
You could paint this scene, but as my son would say, "Why paint it, when you can see it!" Haha..

And painting is such hard work! lol. Thanks Janey…yes, exactly, a scene from the mid 18th century. Minus the frocks!
