Another lovely new plant, Heptacodium miconoides

This has been a really lovely new discovery. I am thrilled to bits with it. Makes a fine large shrub or small tree to about 4m. Flowers in September and the flowers last well. It seems to love the clay soil. I have it planted in a north facing spot as it tolerates shade well. But it gets plenty of sun from Spring to Autumn here.

That’s really disappointing Sheila. The only two options I have for you are 1. Bad plant or 2 too rich soil. But I’m no expert. X

Thanks Karen. The soil is far from rich, but it doesn’t get much sun. Just my bad luck 🙁.

Yes, and they don’t mind shade either. Next year eh?

You are lucky Karen, mine hasn’t flowered. I wonder what I’m doing wrong …
