For Ange - this was the huge Bay tree next door in July 2020. It had been given a post Lockdown haircut.

That's a real shame Shirley..what's their garden like now..a billiard table maybe as I can remember you saying how much they had removed.

Birds seem to like densely packed trees. I expect they feel nice & safe in them. Let’s hope they found something similar somewhere else.

Julia, I'm sorry to report that both front and back are a real weedy mess!

Josie, we have a large Pittosporum with the bird feeders below it .The birds dart in and out of it, but pretty sure no nests yet.

Rose, it was such a lovely Bay and I really miss it. Beats me why the new neighbours were so drastic in removing it.

That is a shame Shirley, it looks very neat there. My Bay tree has grown away, but it is beautiful though it's squashing into the greenhouse!
The birds do love them, lots of shelter for them. When I went to go into the greenhouse yesterday little Robin was flitting around inside...:))

It was a monster, but such a have for the birds that I didn't mind. Our old neighbour, sadly gone now, said it was half that size when they had moved in 24 years earlier and they just let it grow!

Aren't Robins such lovely birds? Mind you, there has been one tapping on our patio door glass since yesterday. It became so annoying that I closed the curtains and it moved down to the windows on the summerhouse. Crazy bird ... :o))

I didn't realise they grew so large I must admit. Yes Robins do seem to like us don't they..:)
I wonder if the Robin could see it's reflection in your door and thought it was another one?

Janey, I think that's probably the reason. It was just flying in our garden, landing on pots, the tops of chairs, obelisks etc. but always coming back to the doors.

I would think so. They're very territorial too.

Just seen this, Shirley. Thanks for sharing. It's their loss that they miss out on the fun of garden wildlife. But it's the wildlife's loss too, and that's so short-sighted.

Ange, that's just how I feel about it. I'm sure our old neighbour would weep if he could see his garden now ... :o(
