Very pretty. It reminds me of Croton ‘Banana’ which I have in a pot and one in the ground.

This one was bought nearly 30 years ago now when crotons sold here in nurseries didn't have varietal names. Actually most people only bought "fancy" crotons from garden nurseries and took cuttings from the gardens of family or friends.

Wow! That’s great you’ve had this croton so long!
It’s funny, because I though I couldn’t grow a croton from cuttings, so I would air-layer them (it’s very easy). I took two cuttings about a month ago from my big Angel Wing croton and both cuttings have roots now. Today (Sunday) I took several cuttings from my very large Mammy croton. It needed to be cut back, badly. I hope the cuttings roots so late in the year!

Well done on growing your crotons from cuttings. I tried many, many years ago but was unsuccessful. I haven't tried since but maybe I should.

Thanks 😎
I decided to try again after speaking to a lady who grew many crotons from cuttings. She kept on saying how easy it was to root in water. I’ll post my cuttings if they all adjust to being potted up. I’m guessing summer is the best time to start croton cuttings.

Would love to see if the cuttings do take off once potted up.

I’ll post a pic when I plant the cuttings.

Reminds me of my Aucuba Japonica leaves.
