Thanks!
Wow! That’s horrible! It must’ve been a horrible cyclone.
I had Justicia carne ‘alba’ . I think it died from overwatering.

Yes, the cyclone was named Yasi and it was a Category 5. It was the most severe cyclone in Queensland's history since records began back in the late 1800s!!
On a lighter note, I have just bought a new white Justicia for my courtyard garden. I'm potting this one!

I remember Cyclone Yasi. That was a huge and extremely strong, destructive cyclone. I’m so glad we don’t get hurricanes (cyclones) here, or it’s extremely rare. Last hurricane to hit San Diego was back in 1858. Of tropical storms hit San Diego once in a blue moon, like last year’s Tropical Storm Hillary. Hillary actually was originally forecasted to hit San Diego as a category 2 hurricane. That freaked many people out here.
Good luck with your white Justicia.

Yes I'm afraid cyclones are a regular part of life here in northern Australia. We're one week away from the official start to the cyclone season for this year/next year, so preparations have begun. You're so very lucky cyclones are not the usual there.

That's a striking colour! Must look really attractive blooming all over your garden.

Berniebush,
I wish you the best of luck with the coming cyclone season.
And yes, we’re very lucky tropical cyclones only affect us once in a blue moon.

Kate,
Yes, they’re very spectacular flowering at the same time as my Megaskepasma (Brazilian Red Cloak).

Lovely. I had a white one for quite a while until a cyclone ripped it out of the ground a few years back!
