Thank you Thorneyside. This is my second favourite season around my garden in a year.
"Osakazuki" is my most dependable acer. It turns always beautiful in this time of the year which I cannot say about all of my maples. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.
Do you keep your acers in pots?

Yes, because I have a river at the bottom of the garden and the water table rises in the winter. No good for Acers. I have hydrangea and rhododendron but only in pots. The last year I lost a lot of plants by "drowning" or sitting with their feet in the cold water. We were still on flood alert in June and already the river is rising with the amount of rain we have had since September. That's nature for you.

Thank you Ange.

Thorneyside, when we were retiring, we were looking to buy a house either on water (river) edge or one with a long view. I was never aware of the water problems until we moved to Vancouver Island, it seems that we have an underground river in one part of our property. Its so wet and everything I plant there dies. Sometimes nature is not very kind.
I think that Japanese maples do not mind growing in the pots. I have several doing fine for years and keeping decent size, the ones in the ground grows much much bigger.

Beautiful colour Klahanie. Such a shame those lovely leaves will drop off soon. Most of mine have already gone but there's always next year to look forward to.
