Bismarckia nobilis - Bismarck Palm

These are very tall Bismarck palms which were planted in 1997. It has become an extremely common palm over the last 15 to 20 years, 30 years ago there were very few grown in California. It grows very well from San Diego up to the San Francisco Bay Area. Photo taken December 7, 2024.

These are also my favourite palms. Their colour is spectacular. They were very popular in the Mexican region where we used to winter.

It truly is an awesome palm! It grows way too big for most small properties, though. It’s widely used in commercial plantings.

They are a magnificent looking palm. Love the colour of the palm fronds.
