My purple firespike plant is full of flower spikes. It should start flowering soon. Photo taken January 18, 2025.
The giant Jacaranda tree is in the background.

I bet hummingbirds love this plant.
I remember that jacarandas in Mexico were blooming in this time of year. They were very beautiful but messy.

The hummingbirds, which are nesting now, love this plant.
The jacarandas don’t typically start flowering until late March or early April here in San Diego. This tree blooms late, typically not blooming until early May.
