The Isu Tree (Distilium racemosum)

A spreading shrub or tree with narrow ovate, leathery, glossy dark green leaves, 3-7cm long. Small flowers lacking petals, but with showy red calyces and purple stamens, are produced in upright racemes, 2.5-5cm long, in late spring and early summer.
I chose this shrub because it is evergreen and tolerates shade. I was intrigued as it is very unusual. I had never heard of it before. I’m not entirely sold to be honest, but it is very nice when in flower, though in no way showy.

The flowers look like Pomegranate seeds to me.

Exactly Homebird! Me too. But then I can’t look at much without thinking of food ;) ( that’s just a joke, I’m really not that bad) :)

Those flowers look attractive and I do like their colour.
Never heard of this plant before.
