My shade structure protects my many palm species from the sun. My Croton is growing very well. I gave it two applications of systemic pesticide for thrips and spider mites. Unfortunately, my other large croton has lost 30 percent of its leaves due to major bug infestations due to the extremely dry winter (only 30 percent of normal annual rainfall). Thank you. Everyone who walks by the house wants this big croton.

Looks fantastic Andy. I can get them to survive winter but in second summer growth is very slow then they die in their second winter.

Thanks! My mammy isn’t looking good, though. It has lost about 40 percent of its leaves in the last two weeks. It was so infested with mites and thrips. It’s probably due to the lack of rainfall this year. We’ve only had a little more than 4 inches of rainfall for the season.
My Banana croton in the ground is doing very well.
