Croton, Purple Wings Vine

My shade structure protects my many palm species from the sun. My Croton is growing very well. I gave it two applications of systemic pesticide for thrips and spider mites. Unfortunately, my other large croton has lost 30 percent of its leaves due to major bug infestations due to the extremely dry winter (only 30 percent of normal annual rainfall).
