Mangifera indica ‘Keitt’ - Keitt Mango Seedling

Mangifera indica ‘Keitt’ - Keitt Mango Seedling (Mangifera indica (Mango))

My Keitt mango seedling has hundreds of flower panickles. I hope it develops some fruit, but anyway I’m going to graft three varieties on this mango tree seedling. Photo taken April 28, 2025.

There it is. I remember when you bought it. Time goes by fast for me these days-ha. Manila and Champagne are blooming too. Manila has grown about a foot per year since 2009 to 16 foot. My Santa Rosa plum reached that in four years. Love those plums that are ripe in early July. Mango not until the Sept-Oct. Not a fast metabolism-ha.

Stan,

I started this tree from seed September of 2016. It’s been in the ground almost 5 years now. I’ve cut it back every year because there’s so little room where it’s located. Unfortunately, it’ll have to stay at 8 ft. I want graft 3 or 4 varieties on it. Hopefully, it’ll happen this year!

I love Santa Rosa plums, also!

We had some black skinned Avocados in the fruit bowl. They were pretty good. Later she told me that she picked those from our tree-ha. I had cut the leader because i wanted more compact tree and thank goodness after 5 or maybe 7 years it's rooted now to the point it looks healthy. Not a bit starved for everything since it was hard to hand water that hot spot.
