Just inland from the coast, a chain of sierras rose from the landscape forming part of the National Park. This was a holy place as pure water filtered through the rocky hills finding it's way out here, creating five or six fountains. These were adapted so that the precious water could be used. You could see this area a long way off as there were so many deciduous trees which were aflame in the Autumn.
