In case you don't know - this is a painted lady butterfly. I've not seen a single one this year as yet. Not much of anything in fact :-(

Sid do you think the lack is because of rain, that is too bad, I just love all the different butterflies we get here.

Wohlibuli - we haven't had many butterflys for some years, but I don't think the rain helps one bit. Actually, the sun did come out yesterday afternoon and I did spot three different species of butterfly in my garden (other than those darn cabbage whites). I will post piccies when i have a moment :-) There was one peacock, one red admiral and a pretty little something I didn't know the name of, so they're obviously about somewhere!

I am just not fast enough with the camera unfortunately, but my fav of the ones we get has to be the Giant Swallowtail!
