This one lives in a South-facing position but partially tree-shaded. Can be a bit shy of flowering (as shown) - needs a kick from some tomato feed very couple of weeks!

Thanks for your interest! Yes, the flowers are very delicate and a beautiful pale pink. I regularly get requests from neighbours and passers-by for cuttings!! As understand it, F.m (the pink/white alba and the red version) are the 'originals' before hybridisation and other strange sexual practises happened! I find I prefer the simpler varieties rather than the frilly extravagances that have been foisted on us over the last 20 years or so. But, goodness, do these things grow!!!!

I think that's the one I planted earler this year. Yours is obviously hardy, I hope mine likes it where it's planted.

Yes, they're definitely hardy, at least for winters in 'God's Own Country' where we are (SW UK for anyone who's wondering). They don't seem to care about soil type, they're remarkably drought-resistant once established and they like the sun but are happy in partial shade. The difficulty can be keeping them under control - I have two, one of which is now about 5ft X 5ft from an almost ground level cut-back at the end of March!!

I am just about to post a photo of mine. It's a baby compared with yours, but I'm sure it's the same!

Hello, Peteg.
Just noticed you are from Bristol, hooray, my hometown (Ashley Down then Redland).
I love fuchsias too, and have this I think, or something similar at the front of our house on a low wall, covering up otherwise dull view of our car, neighbour's car etc. It seems to do well there though shaded and not in brilliant soil.
