Why did he yell? Do they hurt or was it just shock?

Those things can get VERY big. They also can be quite intimidating. They will raise up and hiss if you approach to close.

Think i'd rather have our slugs & snails.

They have tiny spikes on their forearms that help them hold on to their pray. I'll post a close up so you will get a better idea why he squealed... lol.

Lordy, Lordy!! What a specimen... LOL... don't tell hubby I had a chuckle at his expense ok? why did he pick it up? some insects are better left where they are,right? might have been a neat pic though showing the size of the insect on a man's hand. does he have any scars?

Lol.... No Lori, he's physically unharmed, emotionally...well, can't rightly say..lol. I think half of his outburst was out of surprise the other half from pain. Needless to say I got quite a kick out of it myself. Sometimes it feels good to say "I told you so". As to why he did it, I guess there's a little kid left in all of us,..lol.

Nice photo! At hubby's expense, that would have made a fantastic video, lol! Glad all parties emerged unscathed.
