I found this site above. Is this what your fruit looked like? The foliage looks more like what we call a Christmas Cactus on this site.

my son bought me a dragon fruit. i'dd never heard of them before. however I dried a few seeds and plantedd them resulting in these cacti. they are growing fairly quickly for cacti
