I'm tempted to leave these on the tree for winter food for the birds and squirrels...Can anyone tell me if that will that diminish my crop next season?

I'll be looking for Cedar Waxwings then, Wohlibuli! I think this tree sprouted from a squirrels leftovers!! I didn't plant it...but recognized the sprout as a fruit tree...was hoping it was a cherry. It's a lovely tree and every spring it is pink with blossom...and then these lovely coloured fruit. another reason why I enjoy having the squirrels visit once in a while, or maybe it was a waxwing!!

The local middle school has these and it attracts Cedar Wax Wings, which does not seem to affect the amount of seedlings that sprout in the grass every year!
