VIEW FROM MY STREET

I posted a picture of some wildflowers on Mt. Rainier that I took when we were on a picnic up there.
That is not the part of the Mt. I see every day, but this is.
It can be seen almost anywhere in the Western part of Washington State. We live about 45 min. to the entrance. I have a beautiful Trillium in my yard and my friends swear I stole it from there as they grow wild there, but just for the record I did not steal my trillium.

Is it illegal to gather seed from them too?

I was told as a child that this is why..I found this on Wickedia..
"Picking Trillium for their flower can seriously injure the plant. The three leaves (more correctly leafy bracts) below the flower are the plant's only ability to produce food stores and a picked trillium can take many years to recover. For this reason in many areas, e.g. British Columbia, Michigan[1], New York, Minnesota,[2] and Washington, it is illegal to pick and/or transplant trilliums from public lands without a permit from the State."

Hmmm. Doesn't mention seeds does it? Probably is illegal to do that too. I always thought it was illegal because the plant was endangered but this is the real reason. It sounds very sensible to me.

Fabulous view. I'm also surrounded by mountains but I see snow on them only a few months a year.
