Yes Koi can become very tame.Ours were happy to take food from our hand and they loved to be touched. We had a Boxer dog and they used to come up to greet him when he sat near the pond.
We had some large Koi in the past, and also they had a nasty habit of regularly leaping out of the pond and landed on the patio, and they had to be rescued.Luckily they didn't come to any harm as several were very large fish.
They are incredibly athletic and are very beautiful.

These are very chubby looking koi...must be well fed. Isn't there a Japanese legend about a talking koi? lol.
