Rademachera species - Rare China Doll Tree

Rademachera species - Rare China Doll Tree (Rademachera species)

This China Doll Tree doesn't have a species name. It has long tubular orange flowers. Also, this picture was taken at Quail Botanical Gardens in Encinitas, CA. which is in San Diego County.

Also, I think this species is much more tender than the common China Doll Tree because I have seen this tree damaged by cold.
This Garden is located a couple mile from the Pacific Ocean and has an extremely mild climate (rarely below 40 degrees F.)

Yes, sounds like this one has to be grown in exactly the right environment.

I think your correct, however, I think this tree is established and large enough to endure any cold in this garden now. Although, when it was young I saw it damaged from cold. I think when this species is young it will not tolerate temperature below 45 degrees F. (just my opinion)
