My tropical bed disaster

I told Youngdaisy and Lori, and a few others, I would post some pics of my tropical bed debacle. After being inspired by some close up photos of fourseasons tropical garden, I decided to do one of my own. Only problem is ,theirs looks fantastic, mine looks like crap. This is first day plantings.

I've obviously looked at your photos the wrong way round Jerry so I can assure you it all turns out fine in the end so don't worry. You'll be astounded by the size of your elephant ears!! lol

I wouldn't mind if some of those plants were in my garden.

I'm thankful I'm not the only person who seems to view pics crayfish style...Thanks for being very honest and brave about posting pics of something you're less than proud of, Flcrazy... My front garden looked pretty good until August and then it went down hill...I don't have the courage to post a pic of it!! OMG..what a mess!! But every failure is also a learning experience... but isn't it early days for tropicals? They should require more time to establish...you just need to start them in the green house in Feb or March and put them in pots so you can lift them and to make watering easier...? (or do you do that already?)

Thanks you all for your comments, I love to hear from all of you. Luckily Lori, it will not have to look like this again....lol. Hopefully I will start out in late may, looking more like it did in July, thanks to m parent's greenhouse. I have the elephant ears buried in large pots, but I will pot up the bananas after I dig them out. I'll leave the rice paper plant and the cannas in the ground.
