Rademachera sinica - China Doll Tree Seed Pods

Rademachera sinica - China Doll Tree Seed Pods (Rademachera sinica)

Notice these seeds pods resemble Serpents which I've heard is another common name. I took this picture today at the San Diego Zoo even though it is a very common tree here. This tree is 30 feet tall.
I'll post a full picture of this tree.

Those are serpent-like so I understand the name.
Did we establish that the China Doll name comes from the flower shape?

Glad we don't have these growing around here,
I would be in a permanent state of panic!

These seeds pods are soft and they turn flat and light-tan-colored and split open and the seeds are like little feathers that float away in the wind. This is typical of trees in the bignoniaceae family. Actually, the seeds look just like seeds from the Catalpa tree which is in the same family.
