Calliandra haematocephala - Red Powder Puff

Calliandra haematocephala - Red Powder Puff (Calliandra haematocephala)

This is a very common hedge/tree in Southern California because of its drought-tolerance. They are starting to bloom now. They usually bloom from Fall through early Spring.

The buds on practically all species of Calliadras are the same.
