Ficus auriculata - Roxburgh Fig

Ficus auriculata - Roxburgh Fig (Ficus auriculata)

Roxburgh Fig is an interesting Ficus which has all the figs growing out of the trunk or larger branches. It is briefly deciduous in early spring for a couple of weeks and grows huge mahogany-colored leaves. There's many planted in San Diego, however, they are one of the expensive species of Ficus.

Thank you for giving such a detailed explanation of each tree you photographed. Very interesting.

I make it as interesting as possible. I know when I see a posted picture I want to know where it's located. The cultural requirements and some history of the plant. It makes it easier to decide if I would like to plant a specific tree or flower.

I've learnt so much through your photos.
As you know, I like the unusual name trees :
Sausage Tree, Fish Tail Palm, Signature or Autograph Tree -
fascinating. Thank you.
