This is lovely. When I took mine out I found that it was very woody and had rooted itself across the soil surface, more like a shrub. On searching I've found it sold only as an annual. Just can't come through a frost I think, very tender.

Thanks Greenthumb, for that extra info.

I know your winters are very hard Greenthumb ,but do you think I might be able to get mine through the winter if I lift them and put them into the greenhouse

I'm guessing they would do fine as long as they don't get frozen. Probably go dormant and may drop their foliage, but I'd expect them to come back come spring. They are invasive in most tropical areas, I'd maybe prune them back once dormant or keep the dead heads removed til finished. The seed is a tiny burr and travels on passerby's. I might bring one in next year to see how it goes.

Think I might save some seeds as well ,pity its not tropical here I think they are lovely little flowers

Lovely Janette, Mum has this in her garden. It dies down in the Winter then restarts again come the warmer weather, she's had it a few years now, I think a bird must have dropped a seed as she didn't plant it.
