Bismarck Palm is a very impressive palm that grows very large. It has become extremely popular in the last 10 or 12 years because of its large silvery-white fronds and drought-tolerance. The Palm is another native of Madagascar.

This silver form is more popular than the green form which is seen occasionally.

Luckily now they are fairly inexpensive. I know of some independent nurseries selling this tree for $30.00 for a 5 gal. It used to cost $125.00 for a 1 gal plant about 12 years ago. Large trees in 24 inch boxes still cost around $200-$300.
Have you ever seen the green form?
