Thanks for the comment. Strelitzia reginae - Bird-of-Paradise is one of the most common landscape plants along the freeways, medians and home. They are grown in California by the millions...it is even the official flowering plant of Los Angeles, CA.
The reason for their popularity of course is the flowers...however, the number one reason is they are very drought tolerant plants.
It would be nice to see an English growing Strelitzia reginae.

Lovely display. I had a Strelizia for three years, then it died on me over the winter. It got wet, and the it rotted, but I took some pictures and even did a painting of the flower. Maybe I include that picture as well. Well done Delonix1
